All videos uploaded to ShotRunner are automatically transcoded into an h.264/mp4 proxy format for previewing on the web. However we recently switched from using Flash to HTML5 for most browsers, and this video shows some tips and tricks including how to download your original video.

010 Submit Work and Review

Saturday, November 14, 2009

By: Cameron O'Rourke

Its been a little over a year since I put up the ‘Submit and Review work’ tutorial. A few things have changed so it was time for a redo. This replaces the existing tutorial #003 and covers:

  • Artists can Submit Work on their tasks. You can set the reviewer, update your task status and % complete, add some notes, and upload your WIP files.
  • There is also Submit Work on shots. This might be good for compositors.
  • Supervisors will see all the pending workitems on their dashboard. Responding to the artist with feedback clears the workitem.
  • Administrators can see all outstanding and closed workitems for all users from the Administration menu.

One thing I forgot to cover was “Request Response”, so you might still want to check out tutorial #003 for that.

#010 Project Pages (22Mb, 09:54)

009 Pages

Thursday, September 03, 2009

By: Cameron O'Rourke

Project Pages, or just “Pages” is a new feature in ShotRunner that lets you create online documents with images and styled text. These can be used for anything from storyboards to layout to standards and procedures.

  • All text can be styled using Textile Markup
  • Images can be justified to the left or right of text
  • Images can be in four sizes (small, medium, large, and original)
  • Text and image sections can include an optional title
  • Divider sections can be used to break up large pages
  • You can drag and drop sections to re-arrange their order on the page
  • You can browse all prior versions of a page, to see what has changed and by whom.

Here is a tutorial on using Pages. I hope to have a more concise tutorial up soon.
